The big garage-sale

By spotogspindel | August 16, 2020

In an attempt to be slightly more sustainable, a couple of friends and I arranged a big garage-sale. In the end five friends  and a theatre(!) showed up with stuff to be sold second-hand. It is of course much better to resell and buy second-hand than to constantly buy newly-made things. The Earth is under such pressure, if everyone were to attain a Norwegian living-standard, we would have used up the Earth´s annual supply already in April. So we need to not only talk, but start doing.

And we thought this could be a good way to start, however modest. After months in more or less pandemic isolation, it was good on a social level too, to meet other people! We were very careful though, we had the event outside, spread across the garden, and with access to anit-bac.

It was mainly clothes being sold, but the occasional odd piece and art as well. I found this bar-stool in the attic, that I had totally forgotten that I had made, probably back in the 1990-something, and low and behold, it is now in a new home with an owner that loves yellow!

Spread out across the garden…

And of course we needed a treasure-chest full of books to get lost in!

It was such a pleasant day, with everyone coming seeming to enjoy themselves, so I think we will repeat it again next year, then with perhaps even more people joining in!
