Sweet seaman sweater
By spotogspindel | November 14, 2011
I am so lucky to have a couple of new nephews in the making. (Or at least one. The other one might be a niece…) The first little welcome-gift is just finished: a sweater. Knitted in alpaca and silk. Really simple and pure in it´s form, I wanted to add a little something extra. Since I know my father will be more than ready to bring his new grandson out on the boat, I thought I´d make him his first able seaman´s sweater 🙂
After it was all done knitted and assembled, I made a stamp in fun-foam to print on the tummy of the sweater. Mixed two shades of blue and teal, and printed the anchor in fabric paint.
See!?! Isn´t it kind of cute? It´s so small, it´ll be a new-born sweater. But being born in February in Norway, maybe a warm sweater is not the worst thing you can have in your wardrobe.
Now, maybe I´ll have to make him a little hat to go with it 😉

Adorable! I’ve been spending these darkening days knitting too! Smartest thing you can do on cold and dreary days.

This is the cutest little sweater! Can’t wait to see a baby in it – hope you’ll post a photo!

this is precious…of course the baby stuff catches my eye! I would never think to stamp on knitted sweaters but I love the look it creates! xo
