Open day at the workshop
By spotogspindel | August 27, 2017
Saturday, we invited the public to an open house at the workshop. It was a social event, and lots of people stopped by. Everyone that came, had to drill a screw into the fish, as a symbolic participation and ownership in the project. Old and young!
The kids also had the opportunity to make their own collages from our supply of ocean-plastics. By drawing simple shapes onto paper, the kids could lay down the colored objects as they wished, the art could be photographed and the original collage could be re-done. Here is a starfish:
Some of the older kids participated, like this young girl who made at least one fin today. Give girls power-tools!
Elizabeth is instructing Larisa how to work with the fin. This one is special, as it will become transparent.
And Sonja is sewing a rope onto the fin with metal-wire. This fish demands a lot of labor, but it is starting to look REAL good! 🙂
