Illustration Friday´s theme this week is Spent. I immediately thought of the song”Angel Eyes”, which has been on my repertoire for years. It´s an old standard jazz-tune, maybe best known in Ella Fitzgerald´s recording. The lyrics say mispent, not spent, but weather time is well-spent or mis-spent, well, you don´t always know untill it´s too late, unfortunately…

Try to think that love’s not around
But it’s uncomfortably near
My old heart ain’t gaining no ground
Because my angel eyes ain’t here

Angel eyes, that old devil sent
They glow unbearably bright
Need I say that my love’s mispent
Mispent with angel eyes tonight

So drink up all you people
Order anything you see
Have fun you happy people
The laughs and the jokes are on me

Pardon me but I got to run
The fact’s uncommonly clear
Got to find who’s now number one
And why my angel eyes ain’t here
Oh, where is my angel eyes

Excuse me while I disappear
Angel eyes, angel eyes.

The photo-collage is also very much inspired by last nights jazz-concert at the culture-house, and contains photos from at least three different concerts I´ve been to the past months, in addition to a micro-portrait of my eye.

Does look so Jazzy..I like it.

You put your finger on my doll. She looked like Jane until the crown and then…
    I thought Queen Victoria…
and now that you mention it..
I use to see these wonderful animated Russian Fairy tales on TV as a kid…yes she looks Slavic Princess. But if I named her that I don’t think anyone could relate to her in the USA…but Jane is romantic to them..and me..
