IF-ripple

By spotogspindel | June 11, 2010

This week´s IF topic is “Ripple”, making an effort to help with the Gulf oil spill through The Ripple Sketches blog.

Both my cards are pictures transfered to silk, and sewn down on hand-painted paper. This is the back of my fig-box-cabinet, where I placed a little wooden boat.

This is a manipulated photo I took of the coast outside San Francisco. The brown circles on both cards symbolize the oil-spill.

A completely different matter is that I know that the first ship to aid at the rig-explosion in the Mexico-gulf helping with the clean-up, is one of DOF´s ships, where I have my art onboard. The ship is still there, actively helping with the clean-up.

Just beautiful. The tone is perfect for the topic, and I love the use of stitching in your work.

Yes it’s good work Janne, should be more of it. Nicely balanced, and theres some kind of patinating from the silk – adds some old world charm?
