Creative day 2
By spotogspindel | October 24, 2009
Todays inspiration/sightseeing went to Moster, the oldest church in Norway. Michelle tried out the acoustic in the amphi-theatre. and I found the saying of the day:
Everyone is wise. Some before, and some after.
And then we saw Pernilla Holm´s exhibition at Galleri Giga, (which opens tomorrow). Some of the pictures here were paint on plaster, and I really wanted to try that. So when we got home, I found a big batch of plaster and the experiment was on!
Here are our still wet trial-pieces:
And mine:
Here is a detail of Michelle´s girl. She isn´t finished here, and already she´s looking great!
And here is my lady in red:
I think she still needs stronger contrasts and shadows, so I´ll continue on her tomorrow.
Here is another work-in-progress, the jungle-flamingo.
I´m very happy how it turned out, and it was GREAT fun painting on this background.
What else?
Yes, after making brownies, we tried another technique. This time a paper-maché-clay. We tried sculpting heads. First one animal-head to hang on the wall, then a head for a doll. If we have the time to make it.
This is Michelle´s mouse:
And here´s is my dog, still missing his tongue:
The clay needs to dry for 24 hours, so so far it is just sculpted. And I am very much looking forward to adding color on it.
So stayed tuned, tomorrow will bring more creative adventures!
