Thursday, February 23rd, 2017My embroidery exhibition 6 000 000 STING (stitches) is now finished in Stord Museum, and in January I got a request to show it again in Bømlo. It´s not traveling far, but it´s fun to see it up again so soon. It opens Saturday, and will be up for a week-and-a-half.
Christmas at the museum
Saturday, December 3rd, 2016This weekend Sunnhordlan Museum are opening their doors, inviting to a pre-Christmas event. Exhibitions, activities and cafés… I was present during part of the opening hours at my embroidery exhibition. And to no surprise, the over-sized textile building blocks were once again an attraction among the children. I saw forts and towers, cottages and prisons […]
The exam-exhibition
Saturday, June 11th, 2016The final exam of the year was an exhibition made with the springs assignments. Martha is here mounting her photo-series “Absence of life”. Laila and Sarah are figuring out where to put the art. In addition to the four of us in the Arts and crafts-master class, 34 other students exhibit some of their things […]
6 000 000 stitches
Monday, May 2nd, 2016The original idea was to show appreciation for the time, love and effort women throughout the ages have invested into transforming a house into a home, much via textiles. The contribution to society and world history has often been ignored, because it was in different fields. They took care of the “small world”. While the […]

Tuesday, April 26th, 2016Making an art-exhibition is a pretty big job. The main part of it certainly being the making-process. But there are other, important parts as well. Like curating it, choosing which pieces to include and which to leave out, and where everything goes. (Especially when working with your own art when you have feelings connected to […]
International Women´s day

This day is celebrated in our neighbor-municipaly, with a demonstration-martch, an art-exhibition and an evening of talks and appeals. Very interesting! I am ashamed to say that at my ripe age, it´s the first time I´ve attended an event like this. (It was about time!) But I am […]

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016It´s still three months till the opening of my exhibition, but man! Time flies!!! There is so much left to do! Today we did get to tick one of the boxes though. We had a photo-shoot at the museum, to have pictures for the poster. I had excellent help from Helen (photos) and Miriam (styling). […]
Winter starry sky
Sunday, November 29th, 2015I did actually see stars the other day… but ´tis the season of rain, so that´s pretty much the deal. ( I don´t mind) Exam due-dates are closing in, and you´d think I´d spend every available moment studying. I´m not. This whole weekend I´ve been making art. I have a new ship to decorate just […]
