big, red dices

By spotogspindel | June 13, 2013

Topping today´s to-do-list was sewing some big, red dices. Not so much to be used as indeed dices, but to be used as stools in the upcoming play Far, Far Away.

Opening nigh is in only 8 days, I thought I´d better get a move on it! 😉 It can be a bit hassling to get it right, when adding the two zippers, but it seems to have worked out.

The dice is 40x40x40cm (16x16x16 inches) and I deliberately made the fabric-sheets smaller, about 39 cm. The fabric is fake suede, and kind of sturdy, so I didn´t want any excess fabric bulging around. So I simply made the cover a bit too small for the filling. That worked out perfectly! 🙂

And speaking of perfect: I have a little shop on Etsy. (I don´t sell much there, I think I buy more than I sell ). Today I got these lovely earrings from Annie´s Rags with what I believe is ancient roman glass. I promised the owner I´d wear them when I go hiking on Preikestolen, because she´d always wanted to go there 🙂 Why am I mentioning this? Because you can find the strangest, most beautiful things on Etsy. Most handmade, some supplies, beautiful gifts for yourself or others. You can find pretty much everything in there. And I do certainly support small businesses with handmade goods!

When life gives you hands, make handmade!
