Art & such in Oslo
By spotogspindel | May 25, 2009
Saturday I celebrated Kjerstin´s and Tor´s wedding in Oslo. They both looked smashing. Unfortunetly I don´t have good photos of them yet, it was so dark in there. But Kjerstin has promised me some cool pictures soon.Â
Below is a picture from one of the artists I came across in a small gallery: Jannik Abel. Later I found out that he´s married to one of my old students. Norway is a small country! Check out his web-site, he´s got a lot of interesting stuff going on.Â
â€WARNING THERE MIGHT BE HOPE IN THE STREETS THAT YOU ARE UNAWARE OFâ€
And this is another artist I stumbled over in another gallery: Jette van der Lende
If you live on illusion, you die of disappointment, 70x105cm, Oil on canvas 2009
As you can see, its a huge picture, but even though the reflection here is great and the picture looks super-glossy, it is actually super-matte, and the reflection is all paint. It was really fascinating.Â
Another artist who fascinates me, even thought I don´t know who he is, is the artist who decorated the Nationalteateret station in Oslo. It seems photos are transfered onto metal, by making holes in big metal sheets. I think it looks so cool!
Below is some of the fabric I got for Miss Saigon. There is a great fabric shop in Oslo, Rainbow Tekstil, and some of the silk and rayon fabrics they have there are so beautiful, it must be a sin.Â
