Art on the moon
By spotogspindel | August 28, 2020
What a weird title you might think.
But it is absolutely true! At least it will be in a couple of years.
This image is from @euromoonmars and it contains 100 artpieces that will actually go to the moon! Each square artpiece is 1 x 1 x 1 cm, so totally it will be a cube of 10 square cm, all arranged by the European Space Agency.
The #globalscienceopera is in one of these blocks. The 2017 opera #moonvillage is copied onto a mini-memory-card and inserted into felted wool (which is naturally anti-static and fire-resistant). If I haven’t already told you, I am the production manager for the Global Science Opera. Can you begin to imagine how proud I am of this project? Of the affect it has on transdisciplinary education, of the artistic contributions from students all over the world? Which makes it extra cool to send it to the moon. Hundreds of kids created a story about the colonization of the moon, of children attending school there.
