A little Gravity is a big deal!
By spotogspindel | May 29, 2019
May 29th is THE day to celebrate Eddington and Einstein. It´s the 100th aniversary for Eddington´s solar eclipse expeditions, that proved Eisntein´s theory to be more precise than Newtons on gravity. It resulted in instant world fame and a Nobel-prize in physics for Einstein, now known as the father of spacetime and the Theory of General Relativity.
Part of the official program in both Sobral, Brazil and Principe in Sao Tome & Principe, in West Africa, the two historical sites for the expeditions, the Global Science opera was performed live by students, supported by amazing teachers. I was in Bergen in the TV-studio, stitching it all together, but honestly i really wished I could have been both in Brazil and Principe. What beautiful places, what wonderful people, what interesting science.
