Welcome to my site! I work as an eco-designer, an artist, as a teacher and as a researcher, and creating, or ARTING as I prefer, makes me happy! This is both a portfolio of things I´ve made and a blog meant to inspire.

creative days 1

Friday, October 23rd, 2009

My good friend and very talented artist Michelle Allen has come to Norway on a creative holiday. She arrived yesterday from Portland, Oregon, USA. We had a little stop in Bergen, to visit Marianne Lien, a local textile artist, in Midthuset at Bryggen. You don´t know who Michelle is? I´ll give you a hint:  Tick-tack, […]

DOF decoration

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

DOF is a huge shipping company here in Norway, actually all over the world. With offices in 14 countries, and  a fleet that sails all of the seven seas. Their main office is in Bergen, Norway, and they have just moved into a new location. I have had the honor of decorating their new space. […]

IF – frozen

Monday, October 19th, 2009

We had fun over the weekend planning this picture. Axels youngest was styled by his oldest, and I took pictures. A little photoshopping made her look even colder… Oh and the photo isn´t black/white, its all color. We just used very pale make-up and a white wig.

Old art in a new house

Sunday, October 18th, 2009

I received an e-mail from a friend the other day. She had bought a picture I made some years ago, and she wanted to show me how it looked in her living room in new house. I saw this motive when I was in China some years ago. Walking in the hutongs near the Forbidden […]

Polly and Palermo

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

Palermo? I know. Not the most common name for a fine-feathered birdy, but He actually chose his name himself. He thought it sounded so good together with Polly. And you know how annoying birds can be, once they´ve decided on something. Talk about hard-headed!  Anyway. We are having a work-weekend, trying to fit a new […]

Too much of a good thing…

…is wonderful! A detail of my new pictures for the exhibition in November.

Paul Parrot

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

I hope you are not tired of birds, because here is Paul the Parrot. Old-Peter and Paul actually have a band, inspired by the 60s group Peter, Paul and Mary. But in all honesty, Paul is in it for the chicks, and Old-Peter, being a bird of few words, just hums, so success hasn´t overwhelmed […]

All about flying

Monday, October 12th, 2009

Or, all about birds, maybe. I delivered all the tropical birds for framing today, and am looking forward to see them “all dressed up to go”. Anyway, here is another parrot. Much older than Patrick. He´s just called Old Peter. He´s quite near-sited, and partly blind on one eye. Rumor has it, he´s been sailing with […]

Birds of paradise

Sunday, October 11th, 2009

I continue on my quest to embroider tropical birds. Today I present you to Mr. Tucan. I´ve been fascinated by this beautiful bird for years. Sometimes I think it´s a real shame I don´t live in a place where the animal-life is a bit more colorful than what it is here. The most exotic animal […]

Making kites

Sunday, October 11th, 2009

Yesterday Bømlo art group had a kid´s day, making kites while the parents could have a look at the exhibition. Making kites. Kids, parents, grandparents and art-group. A little girl decorating her kite. The first day without rain in a month (!) Luckily the wind wont let you down… It´s flying!
