Janne Robberstad

Welcome to my site! I work as an eco-designer, an artist, as a teacher and as a researcher, and creating, or ARTING as I prefer, makes me happy! This is both a portfolio of things I´ve made and a blog meant to inspire.

The French door

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

I´m going to a weekend this Saturday, and made a gift to the couple. The picture is from Paris, where I spent my summer-holiday. Hopefully my cousin (the bride) will 1. like it and 2. not check my site before the wedding 🙂

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

Since I read this weeks theme, the lyrics from “I´m so excited” have been running in my mind: “I wanna wrap myself around you” However, I decided to go with a version of “all dressed up, and nowhere to go”. (I´m not sure what that would imply). Anyway, this week has been about playing around […]

Look what I found on the internet, sorry, I don´t know who made it:

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

I am still ever so slightly in a summer-mood (even though it´s been pouring down for weeks), and am being not my usual productive self. Next weekend I will be part of an exhibition at “Himmel og hav” (“Sky and sea”) in Brandasund, and I should really try to finish some of my half-done pictures. […]

These absolutely adorable ceramic angelic priests are made by Ole Martin Skaug. He doesn´t have a web-site, but here you can see some of his other work.  “More free-time during the holidays!!!” “More salary, less prayer”

A local museum-excursion, showed inspiring ideas for what we can use those long autumn-evenings for: knitting! A bikini! Or a swimsuit! Have a look at these lovely ladies: Don´t know how? Here´s a pattern (in norwegian): […]

Thursday, August 13th, 2009

I got Kjerstin´s wedding pictures in the mail today! Yay! Isn´t she a beauty!?! And the dress I made for her, isn´t half bad, either 🙂

Stamped and gilded leather

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

On a local excursion, I visited an old friend of mine, Olaug, who at 88 still makes the most beautiful stamped and gilded leather.  Transferring the pattern: Wetting the leather with water, piece by piece, and stamping the pattern into it: She uses leather from ox: When she is done stamping, she adds a paste […]

the resurrection of old gold frames

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

I bought this big, old golden frame at a flee-market years and years ago. I backed it with a very porous wood-ish plate, and stapled the whole thing together with a staple-gun. Very easy and care-free. This one is in my studio, and loaded with inspiration. You can see prints and postcards and stuff here […]

A picture I made from a photo I took yesterday, while out in the boat. I never cease to be amazed by the waves, the sea and the naked rock-faces out here on the islands.
