Tropical tree-frogs

By spotogspindel | November 2, 2009

I´ve spent the the better part of the weekend and today finishing the embroidered tree-frogs. It´s taken some time, but I think the final picture will look great. I´m hoping. So, introducing the trio-tree-frog-buddies of Freddie: Frank, Fritz and Frida.

Frank

Here is Frank. He can be a bit loud. But in times of need, his heart is as big as his mouth…

Fritz and Frida

Fritz is kind of shy, whereas Frida, his sister is incurably curious.

However, Freddie finds them all quite annoying when they teese him when he slips on the branches.

Mind you, I haven´t got the right background for them just yet. I´ll show you when it´s all in place.

The original image was a photo I found online. I have totally altered it by applique and machine-embroidery, there is no printing involved  in any part of the process. The eyes are made of cotton-velvet, the bodies in cotton and a polyester-mix, the sowing-thread polyester.

The size is about  50 cm long the bottom picture.

I think I´m going to title this picture “It´s a jungle out there!”…
