This is where my faith grew strong

By spotogspindel | August 2, 2014

The title of this post is a quote from my poem “On the shores”. I wrote the poem years ago, to use in a picture I made. Since then I´ve used it as inspiration for several pictures. The text itself is all inspired from the islands out here.

This time I am illustrating the verses in form of tote-bags. I made two last year, this year I have two new one. Bømlo has a very rich history, and the first bag has a motif from the old church in Moster. This is the site where the oldest church in Norway was built, in 995. That original church was built in wood, and when it burnt in a fire, they made new one, this time in stone, most probably some time between the years 1030-1060.

The red scribbles on the bag are “graffiti” and art from the walls inside the church. The bags will be sold in the museum at Moster Amfi.

Again you impressed me, and this time I talk about your poem “On the shores”. The tote-bags are a fine combination with the old church and phrases from your poem. However, this is the first time I read the whole poem. and it’s wonderful. Please, use some of your time to create more lyrics too. You got so many talents! Thank you 🙂
