the spiral dress
By spotogspindel | July 23, 2012
A new dress made this afternoon.
It´s in a coal-grey, 100% cypro, which is a kind of polyester, but with a beautiful fall. Here shown without a belt, which it does define the body-shape a lot better.
The design on the front is a little piece of velvet cloth. I made it years ago, trying out a new double needle on the machine. It was pretty difficult to make those very sharp turns in the middle, I do remember that 🙂 The color is quite magical, a deep sea-foam grey-greenish-silvery color. Before applying it to the fabric, I did a little freestyle embroidery in the same color thread, and added a little button. So very simple, but I like the way it turned out.

oooo! I love the look and drape of this dress! Cool idea to put the little velvet touch on it, and the button. I love the little details and how it really adds to the design! I got a job starting in the fall working with a fashion desiner from Toronto!! YAY!! I am sooo excited. I will just be her minion for now…but I cant wait to watch and learn about making beautiful custom clothes! Miss you dearest heart! Hope your market days went amazing! xoxoxo Tam
