the copper rowboat

By spotogspindel | May 28, 2012

On assignment from a private customer, I´ve made this big stylized, oxidized copper rowboat. It´s mixed with oxidized metal mesh of copper and brass. The size is about 40×80 cm.

The family are very fond of spending time by and on the sea, in their boat, and the father is a captain, so the rowboat-shape seemed a proper fit.

The words are the family´s own, and translated from the top, they read:

TRUST

OPENNESS

THOUGHTFULNESS

LOVE

COMMUNITY

HUMOUR

HOPE

All words that the family feel are their essential values.

I had to add another photo, taken in a different light. The metal changes so much in color according to what light it is exposed to.

It’s really beautiful, and such good characteristics for any family to aspire to!
