Swedish fall

By spotogspindel | October 13, 2010

My friend Inger Marie took a photo while driving past a Swedish town, and posted it recently on her photo-blog. I totally fell for it, the vibrance of the colors. You can see the original photo here.

She kindly let me use it as at a motif for a painting.

I´ve been working on it a couple of days now. Here is the beginning.

Defining the houses.

And here is the finished painting. The colors are warmer here than on the original, but that´s what happens when you “Brian-Wallace-ish” it! 🙂

Here is a little piece of Swedish music to go with it. “Visa från Utanmyra” played by Jan Johansson.

What do you think is the best thing about fall?

Hello Janne, this is charmingly elegant, everything placed in just its right place – just as it belongs. I like your pallette – it is very happy 🙂

I´ve painted a lot more the past half year, so I am sure you will. It´s gone from being something I thought I couldn´t do, to something I think is really fun!

I’ve been loving our early fall, with days so warm and colors so clear that you believe summer is on the way! I love the colors and shapes of you composition.

    Thank you so much!
I love the colors of fall too, although this year I´m slightly disappointed… I´m still waiting for summer…
