Sunset seahouse
By spotogspindel | January 25, 2012
I´ve been wanting to make a big painting of sea-houses at sunset. I found a wooden plate in the cellar, and gave it a red wash.

After a couple of layers, the shapes are defined.

This time I wanted to try something new: the extra heavy gel medium.

I´m repainting everything I already had painted to add the texture. But that´s the wonderful thing about painting, isn´t it?! You can just paint layer after layer until you´re happy
I really like the extra depth the gel adds to the painting.
Several layers later, with lots of smaller details in place, but taking care to use a big brush, so it will still have some life.

And voilá! The painting is about 40 x 90 cm.
