South Sudan Saturday

By spotogspindel | July 10, 2011

Saturday evening, and after spending the days sorting shoes (used, smelly & dirty…) we thought we´d chill with our favorite thing: arting!

In celebration of South Sudan, the “new-born” country I made this journal page. All I know about the country is that the capitol is named Juba, that it´s poor, but has oil. That it has been at war with (north) Sudan for 20 years, and that peace-negotiations has been ongoing for the last 8 of them.

I need to learn more about the country, and I need to keep on painting faces. It´s such a good exercise with these 30 minute-painting-with-a-thick-brush-paintings. This guys photo was in a newspaper, and he´s painted his new country´s flag across his face.

And look at this lovely hand-painted watercolor art-mail I got from Teleri!

Happy – happy! Art for my white office walls! 😀
