Seeing things from a new perspective
By spotogspindel | July 11, 2010
Being a kid at a grown-up-party can sometimes become boring. So last night my niese (6) and nephew (4) borrowed my small digital camera, and took loads of pictures. And when I uploaded them to my Mac, I saw that it was a very successful experiment! I got to see things from a different perspective. Both hight-wise and topic-wise.
Although some of the motifs are a bit … well, not my first choice….
And some of the pictures were all in a blur…
They took turns taking pictures of each other, while the other one was running in big circles in my yard. I didn´t want to crop any of the pictures, because it is part of their charm, seeing things exactly as they saw them.
There were absolutely golden ones, like this one, where my nephew is giggling so hard, I can hardly recognize him
It´s pretty clear that they had fun, goofing around and being silly.
And instructing their models: “Smile your most beautiful smile!”
Next day: Here´s another one of my nephew playing golf. (Later we played barefoot garden-football for an hour, the two kids, my sister, me and my dad, and I promise, I can feel it! And tonight, maybe we´ll be sleeping in the old tent we found in the attic. Summer can be so much fun!!)
Anyway, I highly recommend borrowing your digital camera to a kid, and let them be creative with it. They´ll have a blast, and chances are, you´ll have a blast too, when you see what they´ve photographed!
