Painting with the kids!
By spotogspindel | December 6, 2010
One day in December should be reserved for painting with your favorite kids! Today was my day. My friend´s daughter and I started this tradition when she was only 11 months, painting a picture for her Dad for Christmas. And we´ve kept at it every year since. Now she´s got a young brother, and he needs to become part of the tradition!
Needless to say, at 7 months, this is his first time painting. He LOVED it! Feeling the slippery acrylic paint between his fingers, spreading it on the canvas. The boy´s got good artistic instinct!
Of course it´s a good idea to be prepared, with moist cloths ready, aprons and plastic to cover things or clothing you don´t want paint on. And be prepared for a bath afterwards.
But trust me, it´s so worth it!

Now, is this guy having fun, or what?!!!
Since her pictures are all in blue hues, we decided that his pictures should be green. By the time they´re 18, their Dad will have a big wall collaged with paintings from the kids that will go perfectly together like a big mosaic. And here are the results:
She´s made a river where there´s a tree and a cloud.

I think he is an expressionist!

What beautiful children. And the baby with the paint! Great photo. Yes a Abstract Expressionist for sure. He and I need to talk…;>}
