GREASE – ON AIR
By spotogspindel | January 29, 2015
Tonight´s the night! The grand opening of GREASE! A couple of photos from the rehearsals below.
This is backstage right now: the girls are in make-up/hair-styling. In about 10 minutes it´s the boys´ turn.
This “ON AIR” sign is one of the last props made. In co-operation with the light-designer. I found a metal cookie-box we could use, and made the actual sign, first printing the words onto plastic, then cutting out thick tape to glue on the back so no light would shine where it wash´t supposed to.
I didn´t get to take any photos of it while it was still in my hands, all of a sudden it was up on the wall, and below I only have a bad photo (black sign on black wall), but as you can see above, it works. Eirik, the lighting-designer drilled holes in the box, added a red bulb, red light-filter and got it up.
I also have to share this photo of Fredrik, one of the ensemble, who is a true joy to be around (even if he looks very serious here) He volunteered to make the “ugly prize made by the ceramics-class” (quote script) in “trolldeig” I don´t know what that is in English. Made with flour, salt and a little oil and water, baked slowly at a low temperature. There is a lot of humor in GREASE, and this scene is a good example. Sorry. Have to run now. Prepping for the the show. It starts in … 89 minutes 🙂

Wish you could be here too! I´m sure you´d like it, even though it´s translated to Norwegian. Song and dance is international 🙂
