first summer-weekend

By spotogspindel | June 2, 2009

There is a lot of rain where I live. I normally don´t think much about it. But every now and then, the sun comes out, it gets warm, and we spend the days outside, and then I notice. Then I notice how absolutely wonderful the sun can be! We´ve been eating out in the garden for breakfast, lunch and dinner all through the weekend. Either just the the three of us, but just as often with the neighbors over. We even had a feast of a meal (probably illegal!) when we ate “pinnekjøtt”. Its like the most sacred dinner that is only to be eaten for Christmas. (Dried, salted sheep-meat, soaked for a day, and steamed for four hours. Sounds good, ey? :-)) And here we are, enjoying it outside, in the sun, in the summer! I tell you: it´s probably illegal! (But it certainly was good!)

garden-party

The lower right picture is from my jungle-like garden, under the apple-trees. The garden is relatively big, relatively steep, and relatively wild… The turquise/mint chairs I got from an old neighbor who bought them at a flea-market years and years ago. I painted them, and use them outside, in our little “sidewalk-café” (Which is just silly, it´s right outside the front-door, on the porch, and not a sidewalk for miles…)

Oh, yes. And as if this wasn´t enough. Sunday evening we went out in the boat. There is nothing like the combination sun+summer+boat+1000 islands!

And if your think it is strange to have a lime-green nose: we´d been painting! Of course!
