David Maisel

By spotogspindel | May 9, 2010

I just have to share these awesome photos by David Maisel.

He found hundreds of copper canisters that hold the remains of patients from a psychiatric hospital that have never been claimed. Time, the ashes on the inside and other conditions have changed the canisters into unique masterpieces.

I have always liked close-ups and these abstract landscapes are breath-taking. Knowing the back-story only makes the expression stronger for me.

It’s looks like it was maked in Photoshop! Really!
