Christmas is… workshopping with your favorite kids
By spotogspindel | December 15, 2009
My almost-niece Ylva and I have a tradition: every year she makes a painting for her Dad for Christmas. We made the first one when she had just turned one! Now she´s four.
We use a pre-made canvas, linen-colored, and we always use the same colors: white, blues and turquoise. Above she is painting the heart-shaped pages of a book, that her mother will continue to work with.
She started by painting a family of bats, then changed her mind, and decided not to paint anything, just colors! I think her picture turned out really good!

Above is the picture she painted when she was one years old.

We forgot our tradition when she was two, so the picture above is painted when she was three.

And here is the painting she made today, at age four.

Tons of fun! I don’t think there’s anything better than sharing art, and especially, making art with kids. Art is best when it’s given — and cherished!
