Bømlo Art Group is 30 years this year, and we´re celebrating with more exhibitions than usual, starting with two already now in February. This is the two posters I made for the occasions. The artwork on them is of course the artists´.

Motown-project

Bømlo Theatre´s new choir-project, for which I´m the production-leader. Tomorrow is the deadline for joining , if anyone wants to be a part of the funk!

This time around it will be classical Motown-hits we´ll have fun with! This is the choir for busy people. Two weekend-rehearsals, rounded off with two concerts. Efficient, just the way we like it!

Scrooge-poster

I made this poster for the local Children´s Theatre group. They´re staging Scrooge in a few weeks time and asked me to make a poster for the show.

The old man in the photo is actually an English scientist named Herschel. A multi-talented man: mathematician, astronomer, chemist, experimental photographer and inventor.

(They just don´t make men like that anymore, do they… sigh…

Today was the opening of Bømlo Art group´s summer exhibition. I made the poster a while ago, and simply forgot to show you.

Øyvind makes photos the old-fashioned way, in a dark-room. He´s sold his pictures to several public buildings, like hospitals, and has had exhibitions inn both the USA and Japan, in addition to several countries in Europe. He lives on our neighbor island, Stord, so it was about high time he had an exhibition in Bømlo too

Well, what do you know! After years of working back-stage, I´m actually going to be on-stage again! My dear friend and colleague, Runa, is directing a contemporary youth-play in the culture-school with a group of teens. However there was one role left. The role of a middle-aged, conservative and strict, (very) annoying teacher, who bust them in drinking alcohol. Well, of course, it may be written as a role, but it falls very natural to me, I don´t even have to act!

Ha, ha, ha…

Seriously though. After working as a teacher for 14 years, I really am qualified for the part. Only a few lines, two nights of rehearsal, and then two shows. It´ll be fun. Here is the poster I made for the show, by the way.

Into the woods poster

My old folk high school is staging an Into the woods musical, and once again I was asked to make the poster. The background is a combination of photos I´ve taken of the rain-forrest in Guatemala.

Next week Bømlo Art group opens it´s annual winter-exhibition. This year it´s graphic artist Anne-Britt Lerøy who is invited to show her work.

And tradition true, I made the poster. A simple, clean poster to suit her fine lines.

Fiddler on the roof poster

One of my big jobs this spring is working with Fiddler on the roof. The Music-department at Stord High School is staging this classic of a musical in March. I´ve got both costume- and set-design, and am very much looking forward to it! I will start planning the designs already now in December, and started by making the poster for the show.
