Illustration friday
« Previous EntriesIF: swim
Saturday, March 23rd, 2013Illustration Friday´s theme this week is SWIM. I wanting to do something with synchronized swimmers, they´ve always fascinated me. I made a collage based on the super-dreamy photo of Zena Holloway. Check out her web-site, she takes the most amazing photos! The quote is by Steven Wright. I know the text is a contrast to [...]
The disillusioned romantic
Saturday, July 14th, 2012My latest oil-painting, where I am trying out different shades of skin-colors. I´ve called it “The disillusioned Romantic”, and she would be totally lost and disillusioned even without her broken blue heart. Poor, naive(-istic) thing. My more realistic girl finally got her nose:
IF: secret
Monday, June 18th, 2012Your secret is safe with me, after all, I´m a silent star… It´s been ages since I did an Illustration Friday-assignment. This week´s theme is Secret, and I thought it was a perfect theme for a silent movie star. Hollywood is otherwise know, I suppose, for it´s gossip.

IF – mesmerizing
Saturday, September 17th, 2011Illustration Friday´s theme this week is Mesmerizing. I made this textile portrait a few years ago, but still find his eyes quite mesmerizing. (I can admit to being proud of my creation, right?) In any case, I am currently working on another couple of textile portraits, in preparation for my Art& Soul workshop in Portland [...]
IF influence
Saturday, August 20th, 2011“Courage is never to let your actions be influenced by your fears” Arthur Koestler Influence is Illustration Friday´s theme this week. I think Arthur´s quote is a good guideline for so many everyday challenges. The lovely diva in the picture is Gertrude Lawrence, starring in “Oh, Kay!”. But personally the word influence for me this [...]
If-remedy
Wednesday, July 6th, 2011Silent movie star, Louise Brooks modeled for this weeks theme at IF: remedy. I didn´t have my usual colors of paint, so everything intended brown, turned olive, and basically the whole color-scheme evolved by itself, as I played around with the paint.
IF-safari
Wednesday, May 18th, 2011A different kind of safari… … using the lyrics from Karen Kamon´s song Manhunt from Flachdance as inspiration. I’m goin’ on a manhunt, turn it around Women have been hunted, now they’re huntin’ around Manhunt, we all got the need The one that’s been waitin’ has taken the lead I see him every day in [...]
Journey-journal
Sunday, April 17th, 2011Illustration Friday´s theme this week is journey, so I thought maybe a travel-journal might be appropriate? My calender/travel-journal/art-journal with workshop-notes and Artfest-trades. (Love my pink pages after the pale pages of winter!) Not all pages are finished yet, this is a work-in-progress. Some stamps, some scraps, some tape, some paint… … some crayons, some lettering, [...]
Arting at Michelle´s and if-duet
Tuesday, April 5th, 2011Lots of smaller stuff being done today, but I managed to finish a journal-page. Part collage, part trying out new paint colors, and part random text. The colors are Golden´s Quinacridone Azo gold and Turquoise pthalo. And an attempt at Illustration Friday´s theme Duet. The idea is ok, but I notice that I need practice [...]
