Some more Ronja Ocean

Wednesday, May 31st, 2017

I just got the following photos from onboard Ronja Ocean. When I was onboard, the interior was not complete. It´s always a treat to see what it looks like when it´s all finished! I´m really liking how the yellow chairs funk things up a bit! It´s a pretty beautiful fishing-boat, isn´t it?!

The black laced choker

Monday, February 27th, 2017

For the freestyle machine embroidery workshop jewelry, I wanted to make a couple of examples. This is one of them. I first made an outer line of a lace-choker. I then started to fill it. By simply sewing a geometric pattern of little “fans”, I filled the space between the two lines more or less […]

Sonja Ocean

Tuesday, February 21st, 2017

Sølvtrans is a Norwegian shipping company, specialized in transporting live fish. They have two brand new boats in the making, and I am honored to be decorating them.  Yesterday I visited the ship-yard in Gursken, to mount the pictures. The ship´s Christening is not for yet another couple of weeks, so as you can see […]

Naoshima – the little art island of Japan. Recommended by Tanja Beer, the pioneer of eco-scenography. And when I come, I land in the middle of an art-festival! The Setouchi Triennale. As you can see on the map below, it includes some island-hopping to reach over everything. But I´vé stayed here in Naoshima for two […]

I admit, I hadn´t heard of Kanazawa before, but now it´s a favorite city! So much culture, tradition and art, old and modern, in one place! Wow! If you´re ever going to Japan, try to make a stop in Kanazawa! Here are just a very few photos of what I experienced in one day in […]

Skandi Buzios

Sunday, September 11th, 2016

DOF´s Skandi Acu has a twin sister, just about to “set sail” from Søvika towards Rotterdam to get her big crane. When that is installed, she´ll be working offshore Brazil the next at least 8 years. With cabin-room for 120 people, it´s a big ship! I am honored to have delivered artwork for all of these […]

Seascape for Gina Krog

Monday, August 8th, 2016

Apply Leirvik is the shipyard building a big sleeping-quarters platform, due for delivery now in August. I am so honored to be the chosen artist to make their gift from the shipyard to the owner now at the handover. We chose this seascape-motif from Hiskjo in Bømlo. I think it is an important part of […]

Ivar Aasen

Tuesday, June 28th, 2016

My very first platform! I am so excited to share with you the news: today I have been onboard a oil-platform, more precisely the sleeping quarters of a new platform. And I left empty-handed 😉 It may seem small in the picture above, but it isn´t at all. 16 floors and about 70 meters above […]

drying in the rain

Tuesday, June 28th, 2016

The “hesje” is drying, even when rain is pouring down. That´s the beauty of this technique of hay-making. The rain falls on the top and slides down the sides, leaving all the hay on the inside dry. A little bit of wind helps too. Yesterday we were interviewed by the regional radio. You can listen […]
