Bread-bag and dish dryer cloth
By spotogspindel | June 13, 2009
I´ve been asked by a friend of mine with a gourmét-shop, if I could make some local souvenirs, or gifts. Preferably related to food.
So I have made a small collection of Bread-bags (she bakes the most incredibly tasty bread!) and dish drying cloths. The baby-bibs will be included. And also some aprons, all one-of-a-kind. (I´ll make a post on them tomorrow) And I thought I´d add some postcards of local motifs. It is so kind of her to lend me corner of her shop. It´s the first time I will have any of my things in a store here locally.

Below is the dish drying cloth hanging next to my old silk apron. The original motif is by Karl Bossenfeldt of a fern unfolding. I have photoshoped it a bit to highlight the heart shape. I thought the heart was a good motif (as always) because sharing the joys of the kitchen is one of the bases that make a home. And not just the food. Working together, side by side, in the kitchen, can be so nice! Even doing the dishes
!

All the bread-bags and dryer-cloths are 50% linen and 50% cotton, and have been pre-shrunk. The motifs are silk-screen printed on with fabric-paint. The island you see on the bread-bag is called “Trettholmen”. And the text is part of an ode I wrote about Bømlo, living here on the island.

So from Monday on: go to Anita´s “Marianaden” på Sekstanten!

He, he.. Mannen min og. Men eg vil heller vaske opp enn lage middag sammen…
Ode skreiv eg for nokre år sidan til ein Eidesvik båt. Eg ville ha ein tekst med på eit bilete og skreiv dette diktet.

(I wrote this poem some years ago. Look at the link for the complete poem about Bømlo)

I love your bread bags! Do you have an ability to make/sell bags with a custom print on them? Also, what are the dimensions of the bag?
Thank you!
