Blog award!

By spotogspindel | February 24, 2010

Wow! I got an award! Thank you so much Andrew! It´s my first award ever, so I´m extra honored. (A bit unsure about the bald-faced-liar-part, but anyway)

And for the rest of you, you should absolutely visit Andrew´s blog, he make the most wonderfully intriguing images. Here is one of his pictures:

Here are six amazing untruths and one fantastic truth about me:

1. My family though my grand-uncle Andy was dead, lost in WW2, until he showed up 30 years later. He´d been part of His Royal Highness´Mermaid Expedition, 1st Batallion.

2. I had a talking parrot for years. Then I got a catholic boyfriend who claimed he was allergic to birds, and I had to give him away. But I think he just didn´t like the parrots profane language….

3. I played a small role in Harry Potter and the Goblets of fire. I had a friend who was a stunt-man in the fighting scenes, and he got me this little gig. All dressed up in costume, hurrying along track 13 at Charing Cross Station. I´m only on for a few seconds, and quite blurry in the back, on the right.

4. I bought the house my Grandfather built in 1947. When I rebuilt parts of the cellar, a narrow, hidden room was found, filled with old homemade, canned food, water-cans, a radio, blankets and a gas-mask. I also found an old pouf filled with old maps, letters, documents and photos.

5. I´ve tried on the costumes from “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” and I have a mock-sword used as a prop in the movie “Hero” in my living room.

6. I recorded a CD in 1996, called “From the Sea”, with a song-n-bass duo. Myself singing, and a good friend on the bass. The CD sold about 5 000 copies.

7. I have licenses to drive a car, a bus, a sewing machine and a plane.

I´ll come back and tell you which of the seven is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but… Till then, leave a comment with your guess on which it is.

🙂

Part of the award is to send it forward, and I will send the challenge on to seven of my favorite bloggers:

(Andrew, you already have it, and you picked Justin, so it´s all girls here…)

My dear sister Astri, and her interior Velkommen blog (Welcome)

My magical clockmaker friend Michelle at Allen Designs

The sculpting wizard Flora at BoneHead Studios

The very versatile Lulu at Lulumoonmymuse

The very talented illustrator Emily at Art of the Masses

My former-student-now-friend, fashion-student Birgitte at Idigorchid

Miki Sato, who I don´t know at all, but who I think makes very inspiring textile pictures.

All right, Janne … let me dust off the old phrenology skills (that’s where I can discover your inner truths by the shape of your head) and take a crack at this:

    1. I love love that you have that earlier post about uncle Andy and the mermaids! It makes this seem like such an intriguing possibility, but I’m still having trouble connecting mermaids and WWII.

    2. Cute one. But somehow, I think you’d get rid of the boyfriend before getting rid of the parrot. Birds are so smart and have so much personality …

    3. Gosh, this one seems so possible. But then you said “I had a friend” (instead of “I have a friend) and I can’t imagine you discarding your friends.

    4. This one sounds great. But every one of those old maps, etc would have found its way into your fantastic artwork, and we’d have heard this story many, many times about the hidden passageway …

    5. This one gets my vote!

    6. Is the CD still available? 😉

    7. I so wish this were true. Although I’m sure you have the sewing machine license. I’m sure you got 100% on the test!

    I vote No. 5!

Well, Justin, I wasn´t precise enough. #3: He is the ex-boyfriend of a very good friend, and after break-ups, you sometimes loose contact with friends.
he, he… it´s fun to read what you write when you´re guessing.

Ho! Wonderful bunch of ‘unfacts’. I’m impressed by your reference material, almost like footnotes to prove the truth of what you are saying. In fact, I was almost convinced on truth Numero Uno… until I discovered he had an earing.

Of course after careful scrutiny of the remaining ‘unfacts’ I realised that I had to go and borrow the Harry Potter movie and watch it in a dark room with the sound off so that i can concentrate all the more. But i am really thinking, because of your many talents, that number six is looking like a winner.

Off to check the recipients of your awards!

(PS thanks for the kind words about my work!)

    cheers for now

Well, it’s definitely the Harry Potter movie. So I vote for 3 hmmm 🙂

I really like the clockmaker site at Allen Designs. Thankyou!

AHAHA!!! What fun, I think it’s #7, because why would you need a license to ” drive ” a sewing machine?…I could be wrong….
    blessings,Flora

hmmmm….you’re a good liar I have to say.
I recognised parts of truth in several of the lies.. and one detail in the one I think is the truth makes me wonder if I’m totally sure if I know which one is true.
