Backstage GREASE

By spotogspindel | January 6, 2015

January is GREASE-month in Haugesund! We all started yesterday, in all our different fields, on stage, back stage… like the theatre director says: it´s like a family-reunion, now that everyone is back! I want to share with you part of the process in the making of GREASE, but I´m having problems loading photos to my travel-Mac. Luckily I can do even better than photos today: a tv-sequence with an interview with Torleif the stagemanager and me on props, the second day into the GREASE-month of January. The set is designed by Takis, a greek living in London, it´s been produced in Lithuania (and Norway). Due to stormy seas in the Baltic, the set arrived a bit late yesterday afternoon, and 3 Lithuanians, helped by a couple of Norwegians, has managed to put together most of the 5 tons of steel that make this set. It is looking SO cool already! I´ve already mentioned the students at Rubbestadneset who have been working on the marquee-letters. Some other students at Stord have welded the car-seats seen in the video. And me, the past two days, I´ve been working on the textile part of the seats. (Sewing in leatherette, however soft it may seem, is heavy! And it sticks to the sewing machine. Argh! ) But it will all look very nice tomorrow night I hope. Well, enough with the talking, let´s roll some film:
