Art&Soul: Doll Booklet pendant

By spotogspindel | October 1, 2011

A new day, and a new class. This time with the wonderful and funny Jen Crossley from Australia. This was the perfect class, so much fun stuff going on: filing, drilling, etching, adding patin, sanding, bending and stitching. Work in progress below.

Though there was a pre-made design, we all added our own personal style to it. I added some of my fire-torched enameled  beads. And one of my glass-beads :-)

I also tried to make the pages in the little booklet personal. There is a transparent picture of myself, several miniature pictures of my own artwork, my own poem, in addition to pages of metal mesh, mica, silk(!), fish-skin. Oh, and paper ;-)

This necklace turned out so beautiful, and I am so proud of it. So happy for all the personal touches. After every class I am usually very excited, but this is something I really would like to continue with. Working with metal, and hard tools gives me such peasure. And combining it with soft materials like silk makes it even better.

Wow, it looks beautiful! You combined all the elements to make a wonderful piece. I love the way you used all kinds of different elements for the pages in the book! I love the glass beads too. Truly a necklace that is very personalized but anyone would love and cherish.
