art consultant

By spotogspindel | July 8, 2013

Occasionally I take assignments as an art consultant. A local company wanted help framing pictures, arranging them, and even finding some of the best ones from their history.

Going through the historical archives is always interesting. Especially for someone as interested in history as I am. And I learn so much about fields I hardly knew anything about before I started.

Some pictures from their own archive, some from different newspapers, now all framed and hung on the walls of the conference room and the staircase. It´s the oldest farmed salmon company in Norway, and it´s old history includes tuna-fish, clams, even dried seaweed.

They´re not only the oldest farmed salmon company in Norway, they also happen to produce the best salmon. 🙂 Max four hours from it´s swimming happily in the sea till it´s vacuum-packed, on it´s way to a store or Japan or  the rest of the world.

Salmon is one of the most efficient meats you can farm. A pig will produce 13% meat from what you feed it. (13 kilos meat pr 100 kilos of pig-food) A salmon will produce 55% meat. This is because it´s blooded (not cold-blooded, not warm-blooded, but adapts to the temperature around it). Which in turn mean it doesn´t waste energy on keeping warm. It uses the food it gets to grow.

Four hours! That is amazing. What cool photos and what fun to be able to sort through them.
