Welcome to my site! I work as an eco-designer, an artist, as a teacher and as a researcher, and creating, or ARTING as I prefer, makes me happy! This is both a portfolio of things I´ve made and a blog meant to inspire.

Art by accident

By spotogspindel | April 22, 2009

This is a picture I made with my friend and fellow artist, Tanja Huglen.

Last year I visited her, and after the kids were sent off to bed, we found all her paint and started to play. She was unhappy about some etchings she had made, but had kept them to use the back of the high-quality paper. I asked if I could have one, and added color to the picture by painting and making a “squrily” stamp of cardboard and finally adding some leftover iron-on transfers to frame the main-image. We both liked the result and continued trying out the mixed techniques until it was so late, it was almost early again. She later made a whole series of icons in the same technique, that was just stunning!

I kept this first one and framed it, and it now hangs in my living room. It reminds me of how wonderful accidents can turn into art, and how much fun it is to have fellow artist you can sometimes create together with.

Bildet vart veldig dekorativt. Og så er det så kjekt å tenke på at det me dreiv å prøvde ut den kvelden vart til mykje bra kunst.
