Janne Robberstad

Welcome to my site! I work as a costume-designer and an artist, and creating, or ARTING as I prefer, makes me happy! This is both a portfolio of things I´ve made and a blog meant to inspire.

I made the graphic design for this site:

Who am I?

Janne Robberstad has worked with art and crafts since 1993, mainly with pictures, but later also clothes and costumes. I am educated as an arts & crafts teacher, specializing in textiles, and have worked in the folk high schools for fifteen years.

I´ve had several decoration assignments for private companies, mainly in offshore and shipping. All in all there are around 700 of her pictures sailing the seven seas onboard nearly 50 different supply-ships. My main techniques are photo-collage, painting, metal-work, application and machine-embroidery.

I also work with theatredesign, and has worked with Haugesund Theatre as a costume-designer on several shows, including “Honk”, “Narnia” and “12th night”. I´ve has also done large outdoor-performances like “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “Les Miserables”, including the Norwegian premiéres of “Chess” and “Miss Saigon”. The last years I´ve also worked as a set-designer, and shows include “Peter Pan”, “Cardamon city (Kardemommeby)” and “Far, Far Away”.

I am entering my 9th year as a full-time artist with my company Spøt & Spindel / Spindelmaker.
