Who am I?
Janne Robberstad has worked with art and crafts since 1993, mainly with pictures, but also with costumes and scenography. I am educated as an arts & crafts teacher, specializing in textiles, and have worked in the folk high schools for fifteen years.
I´ve had several decoration assignments for private companies, mainly in offshore and shipping. All in all there are around 700 of her pictures sailing the seven seas onboard nearly 50 different supply-ships. My main techniques are digital collage with photo and painting, acrylic painting, metal-work, application and machine-embroidery.
I have also delivered several commissions for companies on land, like Haugesund´s new Health house.
I also work with theatredesign, and has worked with Haugesund Theatre as a costume-designer on several shows, including “Honk”, “Narnia” and “12th night”. I´ve has also done large outdoor-performances like “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “Les Miserables”, including the Norwegian premiéres of “Chess” and “Miss Saigon”. The last years I´ve also worked as a set-designer, and shows include “Peter Pan”, “Cardamon city (Kardemommeby)” and “Far, Far Away”.
I am entering my 11th year as a full-time artist with my company Spøt & Spindel / Spindelmaker.
Currently I am also taking a Masters degree in Creative Learning Processes within Arts and Crafts. I will be researching eco-scenography within the Global Science Opera.
