Welcome to my site! I work as an eco-designer, an artist, as a teacher and as a researcher, and creating, or ARTING as I prefer, makes me happy! This is both a portfolio of things I´ve made and a blog meant to inspire.

A long day´s journey towards a new understanding

By spotogspindel | July 15, 2012

“A long day´s journey towards a new understanding”

Experimental oil-painting, 20x20cm. (Hm, the colors are wrong here. What seems red should be orange and pink. The GIF-format takes it away, I suppose)

Today´s painting is inspired by my best friend´s upcoming peace-travel to Palestine. Still half a year before she leaves, but we´ve spent the day setting up her  new blog, discussing what she will do and what she wants to express.

She´s never been there before and does´t know exactly where she´s going or what she´ll be doing. She does know that she will be sharing room and house with people from other countries, and she will be a peace-observer, her main job being just that: observing and telling about what she sees through her blog.

The Israel/Palestine-conflict is so long and complicated I won´t even pretend to understand it. I humbly do think though that it is important that we, outside the area, care. Observe, engage, and try in any which way we can to help solve some of the issues of the conflict, rather than encourage wrong-doing by either side, based on pre-set sympathies.

Oh!! I so so love your little painting!! I think anyone and everyone would relate to the feeling of being a bit “lost” in a new place, with new people, etc…your drawing is perfect for it, really personal and touching story and image. 🙂
