9- winter snow and summer tulips

By spotogspindel | December 9, 2011

Remember the textile portrait I made of my Grandmother? These sewn portraits always look so much better when you mount them on frames, and stretch the fabric. I thought I´d show you a before and after photos, before we move on to today´s Advent Calendar Activity.

Before stretching:

After stretching. See! Better than botox! 😉

“Baby, it´s cold outside…” is on the Cd-player, and it´s true. We´ve got snow. Or, we did in the morning. Now it´s rain. Or hail. Probably both… Winter is definitely here.

(Notice the little Narnia-lamp in my garden.)

But what does it matter, when it´s summer inside?! I think my favorite Christmas-colors are hot pink and burnt orange mixed in with the reds. Vibrant and warm. Come snow, rain or hail, it don´t matter, inside we´re slowly getting ready for the holidays, and here it is warm and bright.

What is in the Advent Activity Calendar today?

Learn all five verses of “Det lyser i stille grender”

Ups. You don´t have that one outside Scandinavia. Well, here is one you can listen to , and then find another Christmas carol you like, and learn it by heart.

Beautiful grandmother, beautiful house, love the Narnia lamp but hope it isn’t always winter and never Christmas there!
