41 things to do before I turn 42

By spotogspindel | November 5, 2009

I got this idea from Michelle, and thought that since I just turned 41, maybe I should try making my own list.

lista mi

(Yes, I know I´m not 40 anymore, but that´s when I made the background for this page…)

1. Travel to a country I´ve never visited before.

2. Do something for charity.

3. Make a new business card.

4. Re-decorate a room.

5. Learn encaustic.

6. See San Francisco.

7. Make/install some guerilla art.

8. Build a bird house.

9. Enlarge my blog readership.

10. Make art postcards to send unexpectedly to friends.

11. Design Apple-drink labels for my home-made apple-drink!

12. Paint cabinet in hallway.

13. Make a family portraits wall in the hallway.

14. Make a Teesha-journal.

15. Have a day out just with my Mom.

16. Sow curtains for Karoline´s room.

17. Send anonymous gifts to 3 people.

18. Make 10 more pictures in my childhood-book-series.

19. Offer monthly giveaways on my blog.

20. Participate in a swap of some kind.

21. Try screen printing with my new mystical machine.

22. Go to a flea-market.

23. Host a craft-weekend at my house.

24. Have a midnight-margarita all-girls party!

25. Go to a concert.

26. Taste something I´ve never tasted before…

27. Take a hike to Preikestolen.

28. Make a pirat-costume.

29. Make more DAS-paper-maché figures.

30. Learn how to make glass-beads.

31. Give away lots of stuff I don´t need.

32. Take on a class or workshop.

33. Learn a little Spanish.

34. Sow something out of kimono-silk.

35. Grow potatoes in the garden.

36. Draw more.

37. Make a family-picture for my best friend.

38. Sing!

39. See a Cirque du Soleil-show

40. Apply for an art- institutional exhibition

41. Swim in the ocean. In Norway.

If you want to make your own list, tell me about it, and I´ll link it here!

Wow, you create such fabulous art! Wonderful diversity and colors. Your skinny frog is a delight, dangling his skinny legs. Oh, speaking of legs, your skinny bird is adorable, too!

This is a great list. You are going to have an incredible year!

Janne, First of all I can’t even believe you’re forty let alone going on 42! Your list is inspiring – I may have to write one, too (but then I’d have to think of 51 things…!) I adore the quote on this piece, and the art you did fits the quote beautifully! You’re an amazing artist!

[...] As I said, enough with the romance. I went to a concert tonight. A Pink Floyd  tribute band. Boy, those guys didn´t PLAY rock-stars! The concert was great! I mean, not just did they play great, but they had a whole concept. Lights, lots of lights, a film set-design, part live and part pre-recorded, sometimes at the same time. It was just way cool. Loud enough to totally get absorbed into the music, but not so loud that you couldn´t hear the details of all the instruments and voices and sound-effects. So I´m totally putting this on my 41 things-list! [...]
