Janne Robberstad

Welcome to my site! I work as an eco-designer, an artist, as a teacher and as a researcher, and creating, or ARTING as I prefer, makes me happy! This is both a portfolio of things I´ve made and a blog meant to inspire.

Textiles in Bergen

Friday, November 7th, 2014

October´s textile culture gathering was in Bergen, visiting museums, galleries and other places of interest. A few photos to share some fascinating textiles with you.  First up is perhaps the most exotic one: remnants from an old viking-grave. Which means that the bits a pieces above are around one thousand years old! The next piece […]

The shamer´s daughter

Thursday, November 6th, 2014

Tonight was the opeing night of The Shamer´s Daugther at HSH, the teacher´s college. The Danish author Lene Kaaberbøl´s fantasy-novel was the inspiration for this year´s “write-an-opera”-project. So welcome to Dunark, a mediaeval county, and Drakan´s dreaded rule. Drakan´s dungeon houses a courtyard filled with dragons! You can almost see the dragon here behind the […]

Marita´s picture

Wednesday, November 5th, 2014

A picture I made for a private customer. She wanted to picture to include hearts, a ship, a storm and a family-photo. Saturday November 1st was the premiere of “Pippi Long-stocking” If you by chance haven´t read this classic tale of the world´s strongest girl, written by Astrid Lindgren in the 1950s, you should! I think all Scandinavian children know this fun character, it´s part of our upbringing. Haugesund Theatre´s version is fun-filled, with fun music and […]

Etched art

Sunday, November 2nd, 2014

Bømlo Art group organized a workshop last weekend with the multi-talented artist Jan Terje Rafdal. A big success, a full workshop of eager students and an engaging teacher. My aluminum plate, with the motif etched into it: a landscape from the northern part of Bømlo, where the naked rock faces meets the sea. And  a […]

Fake cake, mock muffin

Saturday, November 1st, 2014

Phew! Life has been incredibly hectic the past weeks! Tomorrow we premiere Pippi Longstocking in Haugesund Theatre. I´ve been organizing costumes, props and parts of the set. Most of it borrowed from other theaters, and a few newly-made things. Including a big table filled with cakes. Those of you who know me, know that I´m […]
