the looong lighthouse

Thursday, July 19th, 2012

Today I´m gonna kindly ask for your opinion. I´ve been working on this long lighthouse, 20×80 cm (8×24 inches), and am still not sure if I´m satisfied with the waves. They´re kind of fun&funky, but I´m not sure if they go wit the rest of the lighthouse. It is meant to be children´s illustrational art, […]

new breadbags

Wednesday, July 18th, 2012

New colors in the bread-bag-department. 🙂 Some summer-colored linen, some natural rock-colored, all printed with white textile paint. I´m using my “On the shores”-print, as that seems to be the most popular one, certainly the more original “souvenir” one. My upstairs workspace is now filled with beads and mini-books!

necklace assemblage

Tuesday, July 17th, 2012

I´m back home, and it´s time to finish some of the things I´ve been working on while in the boathouse. I managed to put together 20 mini-books, and tonight I´ve started assembling them. I´m using big, enameled beads I made last fall at Art&Soul. As I started putting them together I couldn´t help myself, I […]

A long day´s journey towards a new understanding

Sunday, July 15th, 2012

“A long day´s journey towards a new understanding” Experimental oil-painting, 20x20cm. (Hm, the colors are wrong here. What seems red should be orange and pink. The GIF-format takes it away, I suppose) Today´s painting is inspired by my best friend´s upcoming peace-travel to Palestine. Still half a year before she leaves, but we´ve spent the […]

The disillusioned romantic

Saturday, July 14th, 2012

My latest oil-painting, where I am trying out different shades of skin-colors. I´ve called it “The disillusioned Romantic”, and she would be totally lost and disillusioned even without her broken blue heart. Poor, naive(-istic) thing. My more realistic girl finally got her nose:

mini-booklets

Friday, July 13th, 2012

My collection of new mini-book-pendants is coming along. Lots of new colors, both in the skin/leather and on the pages. The leather used is fish-skin. Some salmon, some Nile-carp. (So not from around here 😉 ) The surface is very rough on some, on others very smooth, almost like a glazed surface. It all depends […]

oil, brushes and a big toe!

Wednesday, July 11th, 2012

I´m still experimenting with the oil paints. I found some old art-books, and am now reading about the technique. First I wanted to try a more abstract painting. I´ve wanted a big red painting for years, and thought it to be a good way to start experimenting. Here I added a orange-yellow part at the […]

brush-dressing

Wednesday, July 11th, 2012

More stuff in the making for the market in Etne. My vacation has been so relaxing I seem to have forgotten that time actually moves with or without my approval 😉 So I´ve been using the evenings t least to make some smaller stuff for vending at the market. This evening it´s been dressing brushes. […]

lazy days

Monday, July 9th, 2012

The morning haze, 180 degree view from the boathouse: In between all the boating, I´ve been working on book-binding. A new range of mini book-pendants are on their way in a myriad of colors: Hopefully I´ll have some of them ready within a few days.
