I was at the exhibition-opening of Alf Ertsland today at Galleri Giga, and was truly inspired by his amazing oil-paintings. So much that I not only have to share with you some of his paintings, I went straight to my arts and crafts-shop to buy some oil-paints myself. I´ve never tried it before, but next [...]
A poster for the next exhibition: Jan Willy is a good friend in the Bømlo art group, and he just got his “official approval” as an artist from the Norwegian art society. To celebrate that, we´re having an exhibition where he can show off his delicate landscape paintings.
The landart-opnening of Kjøpholmen on Sunday made it to the papers. Both the local Bømlo Nytt and the regional Haugesunds Avis. You can read the articles by clicking the picture.
A couple of years ago I had this different kind of pizza in Las Vegas, invented at the restaurant for a waitress who loved pizza but was allergic to tomatoes. Now it´s an easy-to-make, summer-favorite dinner. You need a pizza-dough-base covered in pesto, diced chicken and sprinkle cheese on top. That´s it. Doesn´t get easier. [...]
An old pencil sawn to pieces… some beads… paper… capa-board leftovers… a little wood-glue… … and black paint, of course. And what do you get? A mini-model of an old-fashioned stove. I had to add some plates of magnets, the pencil-chimney was a bit heavy. But now it´s perfectly balanced
15000 copper coins, imbedded in cement following the naked rock face of this little island in Bømlo. It looks kind of grey now, but that´s only because it´s oxidizing, gradually turning turquiose. If you don´t know what I´m talking about, click HERE. The official opening started with a lecture about tzar Peter the great, Cornelius [...]
The past couple of days I´ve had a wonderful visitor, my friend Lotta-Maja from Stockholm. She´s never been to this part of Norway before, so we did a bit of the sights. Including a visit to a salmon-hatchery, which I´ve never been to before. They deliver no less than a million mini-fish to the salmon-farms. [...]
This upcoming sunday is the grand opening of the Kjøpholmen-project. I´ll tell you more about that when we get there. But there are a few things to prepare. Like this big metal information board that will be placed along the road. the text is in both Norwegian and in English, and since the text here [...]
Your secret is safe with me, after all, I´m a silent star… It´s been ages since I did an Illustration Friday-assignment. This week´s theme is Secret, and I thought it was a perfect theme for a silent movie star. Hollywood is otherwise know, I suppose, for it´s gossip.
This week´s inspiration is Canadian Sculptor and painter Guy Laramee. His recycled-books-turned-into-art is truly amazing! Visit his site and be blown away by immaculate details in his landscape-sculptures. “So I carve landscapes out of books and I paint romantic landscapes. Mountains of disused knowledge return to what they really are: mountains. They erode a bit [...]« Previous Entries
