Tuesday, January 31st, 2012Meling Elementary School had a “visit-from-a-local-artist-day” at school today. 39 10-year olds for four hours. Such great fun. We drew and bleached and painted. Some of the paintings turned out quite amazing! They had never had anything about mixing colors / color-theory before, so I just quickly had a show-and-tell, no more than 4 minutes [...]
Pretty in pink
Monday, January 30th, 2012Another baby-sized pink silk satin duvet- and pillow-cover suddenly appeared on my worktable this weekend. Let´s hope one of my soon-to-be-relatives will be a little girl The inlayed fabric is silk brocade from India.
steam-punk-ish necklace
Sunday, January 29th, 2012I made this little steam-punk-ish pendant a while ago. Minimizing a picture I made of my Grand-dad, copying it onto transparency film, and cutting it into shape. The pendant has two pieces of glass to protect the film. I combined it with a small enameled bead I made at Art & Soul (top left) and [...]
paint-day with the kids
Saturday, January 28th, 2012My niece and nephew are home! And whenever they come home, they come ringing on my door early in the morning, asking if they can paint. My sister says they think it´s cool to have a real artist as an aunt! I found some mini-canvases, which they thought were REALLY small, but we finally agreed [...]
baby onesie # 2
Saturday, January 28th, 2012Since I am soon to become an aunt, I am testing out different techniques in decorating ordinary onesies. Today I´m testing transfer-paper-print. The girl is a collage I made for an If-theme a while ago. The print is a HP iron-on transfer. Honestly, I am not sure how much washing the transfer from these packages can [...]

Sunset seahouse
Wednesday, January 25th, 2012I´ve been wanting to make a big painting of sea-houses at sunset. I found a wooden plate in the cellar, and gave it a red wash. After a couple of layers, the shapes are defined. This time I wanted to try something new: the extra heavy gel medium. I´m repainting everything I already had painted [...]
Extra heavy gel medium
Tuesday, January 24th, 2012I´ve never used this extra heavy gel, but it was FUN! Well, working with a spatula is always fun. The gel was really easy to mix with the paint, such a smooth texture. It´s still very smooth to apply on to the wood-panel I´m working on. After it´s covered the area I wanted. Now I [...]

Baby one-piece
Sunday, January 22nd, 2012My new neighbor´s arrival is coming closer and closer. It´s their first baby, so they need all sorts of stuff for him. So when my brother-in-law celebrated his birthday, part of his present was a little baby one-piece to match his adult Tshirts. Using alphabet-stamps and fabric paint, you can easily make your own, personalized [...]
