Janne Robberstad

Welcome to my site! I work as an eco-designer, an artist, as a teacher and as a researcher, and creating, or ARTING as I prefer, makes me happy! This is both a portfolio of things I´ve made and a blog meant to inspire.

Sleipner

Saturday, July 16th, 2011

Karoline is helping me make a throw for a horse in the historic play at Seim. She´s painting a viking ornament with bronze acrylic paint onto felted wool. I think this is going to look very cool once it´s done. And I am so glad she´s helping me, she´s really a crafty gal. Wish I […]

Hey ho, let´s sew!

Thursday, July 14th, 2011

We finally whipped out the sewing machines at Moster today, and made a little sewing-nook. At the end of the day, I have a pretty good feeling: 2 skirts finished, made pattern, cut and half-way sewn already another two dresses, plus finished adjustments on 2 dresses and a pair of trousers. My two wonderful seamstresses: […]

Midnight sightseeing

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011

Days are so busy, I don´t have time to blog! But yesterday we were in Bergen, and ALMOST caught the ferry… which meant that we a two hour wait. Waiting on a quay can be boring, so we did a little midnight sightseeing 🙂 This is Lysekloster, the old convent ruins at Lysefjorden from 1146, […]

fat-suits and fun-suits

Monday, July 11th, 2011

I told you I´d show you some of my finds at the costume-sale, so here are some of my newly found costumes. First, and foremost, the two fat-suits. Just a few stitches away from being a six-pack, don´t you think? A couple of silk-dresses, one with a very cool design that I haven´t figured out […]

Karoline

Monday, July 11th, 2011

Today is a big day! Today is the day that Karoline moved in! We made this textile welcome-banner and made a big bouquet of colorful flowers and a huge brownies-cake to welcome her. Let me sum it up in one word: Yay!

South Sudan Saturday

Sunday, July 10th, 2011

Saturday evening, and after spending the days sorting shoes (used, smelly & dirty…) we thought we´d chill with our favorite thing: arting! In celebration of South Sudan, the “new-born” country I made this journal page. All I know about the country is that the capitol is named Juba, that it´s poor, but has oil. That […]

Half-time

Friday, July 8th, 2011

I´m half-way through my accordion calender-book, and thought I´d share with you. It´s kind of a mix between a calender-book with a slight addition of art-journalling, and an inspiration-bank. And with plenty of notes and ideas of course.

Moving in at Moster

Thursday, July 7th, 2011

It kind of looks like it´s a banana-factory we´re starting, doesn´t it? But no, this is Ida trying to make a good costume-distributing system. Every actor a banana-box filled with costumes. Works like a clock! PS! This has been this years 6th day with 20 degrees! I´m all smiles 😀

If-remedy

Wednesday, July 6th, 2011

Silent movie star, Louise Brooks modeled for this weeks theme at IF: remedy.  I didn´t have my usual colors of paint, so everything intended brown, turned olive, and basically the whole color-scheme evolved by itself, as I played around with the paint.

Ida´s back!

Tuesday, July 5th, 2011

Yay! Ida´s back! Once again she´s my right hand in managing the costumes for Musikalske Høgdepunkt (Musical Highlights). There´s quite a bit to manage, so getting an overview is essential. With 45 people on stage, and at least 180 outfits (but probably more), making lists is a good way to start 🙂
