I am on my way to Tuscany, Italy, for a week of summer, pasta and painting. However I don’t know how the internet-access is at the remote town I’ll be staying, so there might be a very quiet week on my blog. But while I am gone, why don’t you check out this very inspiring […]
Celebrating Midsummers eve the traditional way, a big bonfire with all the neighbors, picking flowers on the walk back home, seven different kinds, gathered with a little silk ribbon. Put it under your pillow and you will dream of your true love.
My last days in London for now, started with an outing, taking the train down to Fareham and Portsmouth, looking at an old medieval castle (don´t you just adore the English countryside?) and ships, (hm. somethings wrong with the quality of the pictures here) and visiting friends. For a last-night spectacular, we went to the […]
Covent Garden is celebrating it´s 180 year anniversary these days, with a big music-venue at Leichester Square. Second day in London, and I´m filling up on inspiration. The V&A has a wonderful theatre-design exhibition hidden way back on the third floor. For us that will most probably include lots of costumes. And where better to find costumes than the theatre? We started of last night with the […]
A “smau” is a very narrow road in between houses. Not houses anywhere. Houses in Bergen. I made this collage of some of these very narrow roads in Bergen. The picture was delivered to DOF´s main office in Bergen yesterday, and is now decorating the board-room.
I visited this textile exhibition outside Bergen today. Marit, one of my former students is now studying at Art school, and she was one of the participants. Needless to say, I´m very proud of her! This is her work, the hanging flowers in front. The chords are all elastic, and bounce up and down. She´s called […]
I watched a TV show a while ago where the following ten interior trends were introduced. I thought I´d use them as an inspiration-point to show you some pictures from my own house: 10: Quality furniture. As the economy is tighter, people invest in lasting quality rather than flat-packed thirteen-to-a-dozen-furniture. One of the few pieces […]« Previous Entries
