Christmas is… ornament swap

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

For the past few weeks I´ve been going to the mailbox with growing anticipation. I shipped my seven ornaments, and eagerly awaited the exotic handmade ornaments from the States. This first one is from Michelle Allen, my dear, creative clockmaker-wizard. I just absolutely adore this whimsical snowman! She made a couple extra ones, and sells […]

IF – undone

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

Undone, as in not completely done. “Quo vadis?” is latin, and as far as I remember asked by the angel who stopped Paul in his tracks when he was on his way to persue more Christians. “Where are you going?” It´s a good question… The motif in the puzzle is part of a picture I´ve […]

Christmas is… wonderful white winter.

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

Look what I woke up to!!! Snow! A foot of snow in one night! My youngest sister´s boyfriend and his family has an old farm on one of our neighbouring islands, and he had invited us all to go Christmas-tree hunting. I´ve never-ever done this before, and was super-excited. And then with all the snow… […]

Christmas is… cha-cha-cha!

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

My new friend, and the birthday-girl, Astrid! An unorthodox woman who throws great parties, that´s for sure. And: Wow, there are a lot of cool women in Skudenes! Here we are learning the cha-cha. Moving so fast to the rhythm in the night, the camera can´t keep up! Our charming chef, Ramon, half Chilean, half […]

Friday, December 18th, 2009

I just have to show you this beautiful snow-angel Lisa Mertins made! She makes lots of lovely illustrations, so you should absolutely have a look at her site. Prepare to be inspired! It´s certainly cold enough here (-10 C) but no snow yet. First sign of it though, let´s all dress up and run out […]

Christmas is… friends

Friday, December 18th, 2009

Time to gather your good friends and have a gay ol´time! Tonight I´m going to celebrate a friend I don´t know yet (!). It´s her birthday, and she invited me over. She´s having a get-together, a cha-cha-course, and then tapas at a restaurant. How cool is that! The rhythm is gonna get us! Dancing… now […]

Christmas is… more hearts!

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

My super-yummy fabrics than I´ve been wanting to do something with for a long time. The textile treasures are gathered from Beijing, Oslo, Jaipur and London. Using the embroidery function on my machine to sow the heart together. All done with three lengths.

The local electrical company´s calender

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

Every year the local electrical company sends out a free calender to all the households in Bømlo, and every year there are pictures from some of the cultural events from the past year. This year there were five pictures from Miss Saigon, for which I had the costume-design.  This picture is from “American Dream”, which […]

Christmas is… hearts

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

Since Christmas is all about love, maybe I should just decorate with hearts… Here are four different hearts:   My fabric Christmas ornament try-out for the swap I´m part of.  __________________________________________________ How to make a small paper-heart, using japanese origami-paper. Cut the two different pieces like on the picture (look at the pattern below) After […]
