17 – the intense colors of fog

By spotogspindel | December 17, 2011

It´s been raining dogs and donkeys around here, one storm after the other. And all of a sudden, today, as I looked out the window, it was clear, frost, and the sea-fog was beginning to roll in, and the light was just amazing. So I left everything, and took my camera with me on a little treasure-hunt at my favorite “rust-yard”. (Short for ship-yard with lots of rusty junk).

Freezing cold, out and back home in an hour. But I got some great shots. Now I´ll have to figure out how I can use them. Let me start by sharing some of them with you.

See the orange area in the grey in the background? There was a big fire behind a rusty plate (that looks like a rock here) across the bay.

I couldn´t have made a better composition even if I tried. The rusty colors on the “grabber” is such a great contrast to the cold blue hues.

I was mesmerized by an old yellow ship-motor.

Another great composition that was just waiting for me to capture. Two huge tractor-wheels preventing the ship to scratch along the quay. The array of dark, cool shades makes me happy.

Over to something entirely different. I got another Christmas ornament in the exchange! Yay! My very good Arting-friend Tyler made this adorable bunny. She even posted a tutorial if you want to have a go at your own personal version.

So what is today´s to-do in the advent activity calendar?

Dress up in red and wish all strangers a Merry Christmas!

This one should actually apply for the entire month 🙂

Great photos, I love the colors. The range of colors in the rust is just amazing, especialy on the old yellow motor!
